On the road…Fools!

September 3rd, 2010 by Mike Hinkens

Posted by Mike Hinkens

Day 4 of Props Road Fools begins today and it's been a wild ride already. I have brought the shit talk and the Midwest tech so far but have faced some bad ass guys. Watch out for Chad Kerly and Dan Foley. They are most likely midwest transplants from birth.
We are still in San Francisco for a few more days and then off east a bit. For daily updates and sweet little web videos head over to propsbmx.tv

Finally, please send some love to Josh Eilken who went down super hard day 2. He may be out here in the hospital for a week or so. He is doing well but needs some chill time before flying home.

Battle at the Domes: 2010

August 24th, 2010 by Mike Hinkens

Posted by Mike Hinkens

With little to no preparation and no real plans, the Battle at the Domes went down in true BMX fashion...lots of riders, some riding, a bit of shit talking, and a bunch of fun. Kids from middle of nowhere Wisconsin and northern Illinois showed up to shred some street and watch kids get wrecked.

BMX Dan with a whip off a table (he never got both feet on, but was damn close)
Though there was no official contest, the honor of being the one who shredded the hardest was to be bestowed on some lucky rider.

Dylan from Appleton killed it all day and proved to be the shredder of the day. He walked away with a limited edition hand made Battle at the Domes tank top!
And to really make it a Midwest jam, many legends and myths were on hand and some even rode...

Jessie Hapka!!!!!

Rail church.(photoDowhen)
So last Saturday Mike Hinkens, Jeff Dowhen, Grant Castelluzzo, Andy E, Erik Elstran, Troy Merkle, and I all went up to Duluth MN. for the day to ride some much needed street. We started out here in Superior WI. but after about 15mins or so we got the boot and had to leave. The kind officer told us to head to the Superior Skatepark down the road and seeming how it was early morning and we wanted to warm up and ride somewhere we did.

Heres a terrible drawn out phone clip from the Superior park, that place ruled. Definitely check it out if your ever in the area.

C4 Reunion Jam

July 22nd, 2010 by Mike Hinkens

Posted by Mike Hinkens

Some of you may remember a time when you could roll to bayview, see the newest videos and parts, hang all day and have fun, and find someone to ride with almost anytime and anywhere. C4BMX was more than a shop, it was an integral part of our scene. It affected much of what you all know as Milwaukee BMX today. Rick Wagner, the owner, and I will be hosting a jam in one month at 4Seasons Milwaukee. Besides park admission, the jam will be free and there will not only be food, but a flatland jam, possibly trails, and a street session to follow that evening. Please come out and ride. If you are younger and have never heard of C4, now is the time to come out and see what the Milwaukee BMX family is really about. If you are older, you have NO reason NOT to come. See you there!
